I had this film saved for a long time, waiting for subtitles to finally enjoy it—and yesterday I did. What a pleasant surprise! Tone Deaf Clinic (also known as Love Clinique) doesn’t try to reinvent the comedy genre, but it definitely delivers solid laughs and heartwarming moments from start to finish.
A Classic Setup with Fresh Korean Humor
Yoon Sang Hyun (I Hear Your Voice, Fireworks) is well-known for his over-the-top comedic style, especially after his iconic role as Oska in Secret Garden. In Tone Deaf Clinic, he once again proves he’s a natural fit for humor. His exaggerated expressions and chaotic energy are perfectly matched with the tone of the movie.
Opposite him is Park Ha Sun (Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek, Two Weeks), who plays a sweet but hopelessly tone-deaf woman. Determined to win the heart of a guy she likes, she embarks on a mission to learn how to sing—despite having no talent for it whatsoever. Rather than trying to impress him with her personality, she believes singing will do the trick.

Choi Jin Hyuk Steals Hearts Again
The object of her affection is played by the ever-charismatic Choi Jin Hyuk (Panda and Hedgehog, Gu Family Book), who is the only one that doesn’t laugh at her attempts. This unexpected kindness sparks a crush that quickly spirals into full-blown infatuation.
Also featured is the beautiful and talented Kim Hae Sook, in a role reminiscent of her touching mother-daughter dynamic in I Hear Your Voice—but no spoilers here.
A Cast That Brings Charm and Chemistry
The film features a strong lineup of talented actors from the Korean drama and film world:
- Yoon Sang Hyun – Known for I Hear Your Voice, Secret Garden, Fireworks
- Park Ha Sun – Starred in Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek, Two Weeks
- Choi Jin Hyuk – Known from Panda and Hedgehog, Gu Family Book, Emergency Couple
- Kim Hae Sook – Veteran actress from I Hear Your Voice, Mother, The Thieves
Each cast member adds a distinct layer to the movie, whether it’s comic timing, emotional depth, or just pure charm. Yoon Sang Hyun and Park Ha Sun have a lovable, awkward chemistry that makes the comedic moments even more delightful. Choi Jin Hyuk brings his usual warmth and charisma, while Kim Hae Sook’s performance adds both heart and humor in just the right measure.
A Lighthearted Rom-Com to Lift Your Mood
If you’ve been watching intense Korean thrillers or heavy dramas lately (Park Chan Wook, anyone?), Tone Deaf Clinic offers the perfect change of pace. It’s silly, sweet, and full of embarrassing yet lovable moments. A romantic comedy that doesn’t take itself too seriously, ideal for a feel-good movie night.
